Supergrip have successfully completed the design and delivery of a set of topside holdback clamps to be used on a flexible decommissioning project.

The clamps are designed to be installed on the recovery vessel once the flexible has been pulled over the stern whilst the termination head is removed.

Each clamp was designed to suit a 300mm nominal diameter flexible riser and had a load holding capacity of 45mT.

Johnny Molloy, project engineer at Supergrip, said “This has been an superb contract for us at Supergrip in giving us the opportunity to demonstrate our capabilties to a new client. The whole project was completed on a 6 week schedule from starting the initial design to performing the qualification testing process. This working relationship we generated was excellent and played no small part in helping us to achieve the fast track delivery requirement. We look forward to working together with them again in the future”
