Supergrip develop low cost single-piece bend restrictor for small diameter fibre optic and electrical cables and hydraulic hoses

Supergrip have developed a single component bend restrictor suitable for small diameter electrical cables and hydraulic hoses. The system is provided on diameters typically upto 50mm nominal size, after which the Fast-Lok boltless bend restrictor is offered.

The protection assembly is an interlocking one piece low cost solution due to the nature of the design that requires no fasteners or pins to hold the assembly together.

Gordon Conlon, director at Supergrip said “We are genuinely excited about the potential of the Cliq-Lok protection system. We identified that there is a gap in the market for a low cost solution to protect small diameter cables and hoses from being over bent and becoming kinked and permanently damaged. The Cliq-Lok protection system addresses these issues as well as providing dropped object and UV protection. The Cliq-Lok protection system offers all the advantages of current industry standard bend restrictors but with two significant advantages that makes it ideal for the lower diameter range with.

Firstly the design can be used on new installations or easily retrofittable around existing cables and hoses, secondly and most importantly the product is offered at a fraction of the cost of normal bend restrictor. We can do this as the component itself is a unique one-piece interlocking design that is a low cost component to manufacture. The cost of this product now brings into the consideration the fact that protection systems can be fitted onto installations were previously price was prohibitive. We have only recently commenced the marketing and sales strategy for the Cliq-Lok but we are already receiving interest and enquiries for both cable and hose applications.
