Supergrip have successfully delivered two subsea umbilical hold back clamps for use with 117mm diameter umbilcials.
Each clamp was supplied to interface with the clients subsea structure and incorprated an active bolt tension system. Both products were subjected to a formal load test activity, witnessed by client representatives, to confirm the load holding capabiltiy together with the verification that the clamp would not damage the umbilical during during operation. All tests were completed successfully with excellent client feedback.
Sheldon Jeffrey, project manager at Supergrip “We have worked with this client on a number of successful projects over the last few years, delivering a range of umbilical protection equipment from sealing systems, bend restrictors, bend stiffeners to clamps. This was another successfully completed project and we look forward to building upon this relationship further going forward. With regards to the product, Supergrip have historically supplied alot of subsea clamping systems. This includes both topside installations were the clamp is fitted onto the umbilical prior to deployment or subsea ROV installations onto umbilcals and flexibles for recovery and maintenance applications. We currently have a number of other clamp projects in design and production which are being used on cable recovery and repair applications or decommissioning projects.
