Darren Blackburn, director at Supergrip, said, “We were approached by an existing client to see if we could assist them with a fast track application. They required 450m of protection sleeves within a number of weeks to meet the installation vessel that was due to lay the cable. Our team worked around the clock to manufacture the tooling and produce the ducting in the timescale required. The ducting design incorporated a single split and was supplied with cable installation equipment, as well as a strap tensioning system. In addition to the protection sleeves, we also produced a J-Tube centraliser complete with a length of our Fast-Lok boltless bend restrictor which protected the cable during installation and in the free span between the bellmouth and the seabed.”
