Supergrip have successfully completed the engineering, manufacturing and qualification testing of 3-off 36” NS Pipeline Isolation Plug Spreads.
Having been awarded the contract earlier in 2018, Supergrip have spent the summer completing the detailed engineering of all equipment and manufacturing all components.

Our South East Asia partners and representatives from the end client visited our produution facility in October to witness the factory acceptance testing of all equipment.
The Pipeline Isolation Plugs provided double block and bleed seal integrity and incorporated four functions:
• hydraulic activation
• hydraulic de-activation
• downstream moinitoring
• seal pressure monitoring
Each plug was supplied with a modular hydraulic installation and recovery cradle as well as hydraulic power unit, control stand and interconnecting hose work.
Gordon Conlon, Director at Supergrip, said “We are delighted to deliver this equipment on what is a prestigious contract for Supergrip. It is another example of the growing reputation we are gaining not only in the SURF field but also pipeline IMR. This particular contract was the culmination of a lot of sales and marketing campaigns and is a demonstration of our capability in the field of pipeline isolation. We worked closely with both our regional partners and end clients at all stages of the project execution process, resulting in equipment that functioned perfectly during the comprehensive testing process performed at our production facility in Colne. Following many visits to South East Asia ahead of this contract, we were pleased to host our clients in Colne over the course of a week. This not only gave us an opportunity to present the equipment but also to strengthen our relationship outside of the working environment. We look forward to performing training and sales courses to our client out in Malaysia in early 2019 and also to working on potential future opportunities which are already arising”
Darren Blackburn, Director at Supergrip, said “These are exciting times for us at Supergrip and we have had another successful year in 2018. As well as moving into new engineering offices we have seen significant growth in the production facility and we are growing year on year. With the completion of this project we are expecting a hectic end to the year with a number of other projects scheduled to be completed before the new year break. We are also in the final stages of completing two products that have been in development this year. One product is aimed at the cable protection market which will offer significant installation and commercial savings and is already seeing interest from preliminary discussions we have had in the marketplace and the other is aimed at riser repairs. We expect to be in a position to launch both products early in the new year”
