For the first time, Supergrip’s knowledgeable team of engineers have successfully produced Hydraulic Rotary Actuators for subsea geotechnical operations, Subsea Reservoirs and provided associated spares. As part of this project, the Supergrip team provided project management, documentation, manufacturing, assembly and testing processes in-house to bring the client’s exceptional design to life.
This cylinder is used to provide a turning or angular movement which allows for a stroke in oscillating motion through a defined angle. Using a Hydraulic Rotary Actuator gives a high torque for heavy-duty motion applications, in turn reducing maintenance issues and costs.
Supergrip’s Head of Business Development, John Price, commenting on the project, said: “This has been a really interesting and challenging project for our team to work on. I’ve been involved in the subsea industry for in excess of 20 years and this assembly has the most modules incorporated into any system I’ve seen This is another great example of Supergrip’s in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities working with the clients design team to provide hardware for the industry’s challenging offshore requirements.”.
