Supergrip have designed and manufactured a small version of their Fast-Lok boltless bend restrictor.
A number of assemblies complete with stainless steel interface adaptors were successfully deployed as part of a tidal stream deployment project of the coast of Scotland.
Sheldon Jeffrey, project manager at Supergrip, said “This is the smallest Fast-Lok bend restrictor produced to date, but was ideal in providing a lightweight, low cost cable protection solution for the small diameter fibre optic cable. Following completion of this project it gave our team ideas on producing a novel new one-piece bend restrictor suitable for offering protection to small fibre optic cables and hydraulic hoses. This product is currently in development and has undergone various design evolutions and tests. The new product is scheduled to be released to the market in the coming weeks”.
