The seal assembly was to suit a bundle arrangement and was a spit construction to enable assembly around the products to be efficiently performed.
The installation was performed onboard the installation vessel with a Supergrip engineer present.
Johnny Molloy who supervised the installation said “I’ve done a number of offshore installations on ROV activated J-Tube Seals now but this trip stood out. The equipment that we have supplied has a number of new modules such as ROV releasable clamping system to reduce post-installation pull-through forces of the product, a subsea latching mechanism to maintain position prior to hydraulic activation and of course a bespoke version of the Fast-Lok to suit the bundle arrangement.”
“The seal and bend restrictors were assembled vertically to enable a moonpool deployment to be performed. All components went together very well and the offshore crew paid particular credit to the time savings that the Fast-Lok boltless bend restrictor provided. Each of the new modules developed activated perfectly subsea with the installation of the latches and ROV removal of the clamp working as expected”
“I must say that the team on board the vessel was first class with our client, the marine installation contractors crew, and the end client representative working very well together. The vessel itself was fantastic and was easily the best one I’ve been on board”
