Fast-Lok boltless bend restrictors supplied for One Subsea project

Supergrip have successfully developed more assemblies of the Fast-Lok boltless bend restrictor increasing the track record and product visibility in the market place.

The product, which was developed by Supergrip in 2015 has now been installed on over 10 projects with excellent feedback on the savings on installation time.

The design specification for this particular supply was as follows:

– Cable diameter: 105mm
– Bend radius: 2m
– Design bending moment 50kNm

Gordon Conlon director at Supergrip said “We are extremely pleased with the development of the Fast-Lok bend restrictor. Following a thorough design and development program in 2015 the first challenge was to bring the advantages of the system to the umbilical manufacturers and installation contractors. Following a global sales and marketing campaign the industry is steadiiy becoming aware of the many benefits the Fast-Lok system offers. We have performed many timed installation tests comparing the savings against a traditional 6 bolt system and it is proven that the Fast-Lok can be installed in 20% of the time. This is a huge reduction on installation costs to our client, in some cases days, over the traditional option. This is increased further when the fact that traditional units also utilise stainless steel fasteners that are prone to galling and seizures that can require cutting operations on the back deck of the vessel. We are excited about the future of the Fast-Lok and are pleased to see the many hours of developing the product are coming to fruition”.
