Product Launch
The Flexible Repair System (FRS)

Supergrip are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Pulsefi Ltd to create the Exceflex partnership to provide products, engineering and installation support to the flexible pipeline industry. Timed to coincide with the start of the partnership, we launch our first jointly developed flexible pipe related product, the Flexible Repair System (FRS).
The FRS has been in development over a period of 9 months and has been subjected to a comprehensive qualification test program witnessed by an independent third party verification authority. The system is designed to provide a dynamic, lightweight, long term repair solution for breaches in flexible pipe outer sheaths.
One of the key benefits with the FRS is its ability to retain the annulus cavity without flooding it with an expensive gel injection system. This ensures the key internal carbon steel pressure retaining components remain within a sealed environment reducing the risk of corrosion and increasing pipeline longevity. In addition, it permits the annulus gas to continue and vent through the end fitting as per design conditions and reactivates the ability to annulus pressure test.
The system is easily installed to any live flexible pipe either topside or subesa with no production downtime. In addition to providing the FRS component, the Exceflex partnership can also provide installation support and ongoing flexible integrity management.

Gordon Conlon, Director at Supergrip (UK) Ltd said
"We are really pleased to work with the team at Pulsefi on the supply of products to the flexible market. With their experience of manufacturing, installation and integrity management coupled with Supergrips product development capability we believe that together we can provide an experienced and innovative solution to our clients.
The FRS is the first product to be developed and addresses an area in the marketplace that we believe to date isn’t addressed. The FRS doesn’t require any gel injection to seal the flexible and maintains a clear annulus to enable pressure venting and monitoring to be reintroduced. The product has undergone an extensive qualification process with testing witnessed by a third party certifying authority."
